How to work through this board

Begin with five blank answer slots labeled 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8. Their lengths add to 30, exactly matching the number of open cells, so every usable cell belongs to one path. As you identify an entry, count its letters before tracing it and mark its cells once. A duplicated or skipped cell will otherwise distort every later route.

Use the board’s outline as a movement guide. The fully open first and sixth rows allow longer horizontal runs, while the four-cell second and fifth rows interrupt those runs. The matching column pattern can help you notice when a proposed spelling has drifted into the wrong area. Check orthogonal steps only: each next letter must sit directly above, below, left, or right of the previous one.

If you want a stronger nudge without opening the LinkedIn Wend answer, work in ascending length order and look at the first letters Z, Z, R, V, and A. Keep the two Z entries separate by their lengths rather than forcing one spelling to serve both. After placing a candidate, recount the remaining cells against the remaining slot lengths; the uncovered total should decrease from 30 to 26, 21, 15, 8, and finally zero.

The useful feature here is the two-cell upward run in the middle. Overall, the path makes two turns across three straight segments, spans three rows and two columns, and visits two edge cells without entering a corner. Finishing it brings the assigned total to nine cells, leaving 21 cells for the three longer routes.

Third path: RABBIT

Build RABBIT along 1 at row 6, column 3; 2 at row 6, column 2; 3 at row 6, column 1; 4 at row 5, column 1; 5 at row 5, column 2; 6 at row 4, column 2. In path order, the cells spell R → A → B → B → I → T.

The movement sequence is left, left, up, right, and up. Pay attention to the repeated B: the path reaches the first B after the two-cell leftward run, then turns upward to the second before moving right. This route has three turns, four straight segments, four edge visits, and one corner visit. Its six cells raise the assigned total to 15, exactly half of the open board.

How to play Wend

Wend is a daily word-path puzzle. Your job is to divide every open tile into the required number of words while following a few strict movement rules. You can play Wend on the board above with a mouse, a finger, or the keyboard.

Start with any open letter
Choose a letter that could begin one of the displayed word lengths. On this page, press or tap the first tile and continue through neighboring tiles to build a path.

Move in four directions
Each next letter must touch the previous one above, below, left, or right. Diagonal moves and jumps across the board do not count, although a valid word may turn several times.

Keep paths separate
A letter tile can belong to only one completed word. Blocked tiles are never used. When you check a correct path, those squares are marked as solved and the remaining board becomes smaller.

Cover the full board
The puzzle is finished only when every open square belongs to a valid answer of the required length. Use Undo to remove one step, Reset to restart, or Hint to mark a useful next tile.

The length markers are part of the logic. A three-letter route may look obvious, but accepting it too quickly can leave a six-letter shape that cannot be traced.
